I spent nearly 3 years researching facial plastic surgeons across the country and consulted with several before finding Dr. Harley on Instagram. His results were not only consistently beautiful, but his gallery of before/afters was extensive – highlighting his skill and depth of experience. What stood out to me was that he didn’t seem consumed by social media – his work quietly spoke for itself. No inflated ego or Insta- persona, just authenticity and exceptional work. I knew from our first zoom consult that Dr. Harley would be my surgeon. What seemed to be such a difficult decision was instantly an easy one.
He operates from a small mountain town in North Carolina that I had never heard of before but when I arrived, it all made sense – Dr. Harley clearly values both his craft and the quality of life around it. His office in Cashiers is gorgeous with a recovery house immediately behind it.
His team is small, but efficient, and just kind beyond words. You are not a number here – you are treated like a friend. I had everyone’s personal cell number for any question/concern that popped up. In the realm of plastic surgery, this is rare. Abigail is pure sunshine and an absolute pleasure to work with coordinating surgery and appointments. Savannah, his nurse, a true gem of a person as well. She assisted with my surgery and cared for me the first night of recovery with such compassion and attentiveness – I will never forget. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Harley’s beautiful wife, who is very much the backbone of both the office and their precious family.
The day of my surgery couldn’t have been smoother. Dr. Harley and his team put me completely at ease. Dr. Harley is quite rare in that he uses only local and oral sedation – not IV – so while you are still asleep for the surgery, the recovery is so much gentler as your body isn’t having to process all the IV sedative drugs for days afterwards. I attribute this to why my recovery has been so fast and easy. I stayed in Cashiers for 10 days and did hyperbaric oxygen therapy nearly every day of my recovery. It was such an amazing experience all around – I honestly did not want to leave. I’ll miss seeing everyone’s smiling faces and that special mountain- calm.
My early results are already amazing – I am so excited – and can see how everything will fall into place beautifully with time.
